Committee Involvement
HBC Committee involvement offers opportunities to participate, first hand, in the activities of this building organization. By becoming a member of a committee you will enjoy professional development, personal growth, networking and camaraderie in addition to working towards a common goal. The following is a list of each committee and its specific purpose/responsibility. Membership On this committee you will interface with industry professionals and build your contacts, as well as assisting to increase HBC membership. Membership is the backbone to any organization and this committee needs high-energy people to reach new goals. Programs / Seminars / BIS This committee meets to “Brainstorm” and plan exciting and focused dinner programs and seminars to educate industry professionals. Committee members are needed for their valuable input on what is needed in the industry in ways of seminars and to assist in the coordinating of these programs. LCDM / Scholarships This committee administers HBC’s scholarship and educational endowment program and supports the University of California at Irvine’s Light Construction and Development Management (LCDM) Certificate Program, as well as selecting schools to receive educational grants. You will also help in selecting individuals who receive scholarships though the application and interview process.  Design Build Competition Design / Build Competition This committee plans and stages the most exciting HBC function each year which encourages hands-on involvement in learning the building industry. The Design/Build Competition has grown leaps and bounds and has gained national recognition. Several schools, colleges and R.O.P.’s compete each year over a 2-day period to construct a 6x8 structure. Join up early on this committee for some real excitement!  Builder Auction Fundraisers / Mixers Our fundraiser events and social mixers are broken down into categories. Throughout the year some of the events scheduled include networking “mixers”, a Builder Auction, Inaugural Event and Opportunity Drawings to name a few. If you have a great idea for a new fundraiser or mixer event, come join the committee. Corporate Sponsorship This committee was formed to streamline our sponsor solicitation for our many events. This committee will seek companies who would like to be an annual HBC Sponsor and donate all at once to cover various events overall and receive recognition at each one.  Golf Tournament Golf Tournament Committee Members are needed to assist in the planning of the annual golf tournament, which is always a big success and a fun-filled day.
